Okay then, now that you have picked a space out that you will be running your eBay business from there are a few things your office is going to need. Let’s start with:
-A computer, a printer, and a scanner (use Mac or PC, it doesn’t really matter which.)
-A good camera (35mm is acceptable but PLEASE go digital if you can! Believe me it’s worth it!)
-A place for files (a small filing cabinet or drawer is ideal. As long as it will hold manila folders it will work!)
-Some desk space (it doesn’t have to be huge, just some space to work.)
-High speed internet access (forget dial up right now! It will not work for this!)
-Notebooks for keeping track of items, addresses, and financial information.
Be sure you have gathered these items before you venture onto eBay. The difference between a professional craftsmen and the weekend bunglers is that the true craftsman will lay out all the tools he needs for the job right at the beginning. Also, the old saying “haste makes waste,” could have specifically been written about staring an online eBay business. Too much “waste” at this point really slows down your success. Think of it this way: have you ever had an important project that you had to keep pausing because you needed another piece of equipment for the next step? Annoying, huh? So make sure it’s all there before you start

Setting up the Office – Part I

Okay, let’s go! Now, the most important thing you need to do to start making money on eBay is find a place where you can run your business and keep your business “stuff.” Really, if you do not have a place where you can keep your auction and reference materials your business will immediately begin failing. IF it even starts at all! Having your office in a spare bedroom or a den where it can be away from the normal flow of daily life would be perfect. Well, I know we don’t live in a perfect world so if you must you can office out of your own bedroom but I don’t suggest it. Just make sure that you keep your work space, wherever it is, as far away from the activities and events around it as poss
One more thing; setting up your workplace so you can sell on eBay on your kitchen table or in a common area is a very bad idea. Let’s think about it for a minute here; you would constantly have to be tearing it down and putting it back up! It would make it all too easy to misplace or lose important information. If you live by yourself and you don’t have any other options then this could work as a short term thing, but I would recommend moving your eBay business’s office to a more isolated location as soon as you can.
Even if you don’t have the ideal place to work your home business selling on eBay right now decide on a place that will work for the short term, and make long term plans for something more permanent.

My name is Zach and I’m really angry! JK – but I am worried. There are so many people I know that are losing their shirts right now! I mean it! Don’t we all know at least one person that’s been tossed on his head by “the economy?” Whether they are losing their car, their home, their lively hood, or their respect – what can you possibly do? It’s not like you can afford to make your kid brother’s vehicle payments or keep your buddy’s house from getting forclosed on, is it?! You’re only barely hanging on to your own job – you know, the one you’ve hated for years now because you somehow have to keep your own house! There are people counting on you! The kids and the spouse, . . . Remember?
Well this sure all sounds familiar to me. It seems like every other day now I hear of some one else losing it! It’s frustrating! I want to do something about it and I figure I must! You see, I’ve found something that works, eBay! eBay has something to offer everyone. That’s why I’ll be dedicating this blog to helping you steer the straight course making money on eBay! If you want a home based business where you can work online, eBay is the way to go! Everybody needs extra $, right?
